Carina Vieira da Silva

PhD, NOVA School of Business and Economics (Portugal)
Carina Vieira da Silva is an environmental biologist with a Ph.D. in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies with a Specialization in Environmental Sciences. She has followed a transdisciplinary approach trying to bridge the gap between natural sciences and economics, aiming to improve biodiversity conservation and environmental management in general. Her interest lies in the full economic costs and benefits of different uses of ecosystems. Her research focuses on both use and non-use values of marine and coastal ecosystem services and their estimation using revealed and stated preference valuation techniques to inform decision making.
